Over the past few months we have all had our patience tested to some degree. For some it has been more challenging than others. Manfred F.R. Kets de Vries provides the reader with some great techniques to exercise your “patience muscle”.  I personally have been practicing gratitude and mindfulness to help me with my patience.

And one other technique that isn’t on his list is baking sourdough bread. Yes, bread has helped me to practice patience. It took me close to a month before my starter became predictable, much longer than all the baking websites told me. And once the sourdough starter did become predictable, the process of making the bread takes over 24 hours before the loaf is ready for consumption. Each week I practice patience, I now look forward to the 24 hours of preparing and baking sourdough bread.
