In fact, bias may be one reason why only 14% of employees strongly agree that their performance reviews motivate them to improve, according to Gallup.

 

Now the trend over the past several years is moving away from performance reviews towards coaching feedback sessions on a weekly or biweekly basis. This timelier feedback has provided more meaningful feedback to employees leading to increased employee motivation and engagement.
